Very Extremely Non-Instant Gratification, But Wow!

Our youngest child, Kevin, graduated from college yesterday! In Switzerland! And we are here!

The thrill of seeing our third kid flip his tassel (OK, technically he lost his tassel before the ceremony started, but still) was just fantastic. By Monday night, we will be home from our whirlwind tour (which included a panoramic train ride from Zurich down to Montreux), kid in tow.

Amazing time. Wonderful son. Very proud parents.

And now, for your enjoyment, I will retype this as if it were an American keyboard, without looking at the keys.

The thrill of seeing our third kid flip his tassel <8

Amaying time. Wonderful son. Verz proud parents.

  2. <here are some fun szmbols <i could be using if <i were accustomed to a European kezboard<é èü¨¨£$äàöé. Entertaining, huh<' And of course, the y and the z are in opposite places on this board. And all the punctuation marks are placed differentlz, as well.

  3. So thrilled you're in Switzerland, Katy! Our son's girlfriend was there just a couple of weeks ago, and she sent us a similar e-mail with y's and z's transposed. Made it sound as if she were "speaking" with a Swiss accent. Charming. ; ) Have a safe trip home and congrats to Kevin!

  4. Bonjour, Deb! Oui, j'avais mes lettres et mes symbols tout le screwed up! :) We are in Lausanne ce soir, a French region. Our first night we spent in Luzern, which is German. We can function in French un petit peu seulement, but it's better than nothing!

  5. Katy,
So happy that you and Doug arrived safely and are enjoying your time with Kev. What a thrill to have three/three graduated. You should be very, very proud. Now you're on to two/three married! :) See you soon!

  6. Hi, Katy,
I thought about you all week. I'm so glad you got to go. I looked at your site daily to see if you were checking in. When Jessica graduated in Belfast, her dad got to go - but he didn't make it. he and his family vacationed in Italy that week and they missed the plane to take them from Florence to Belfast. There was a lot of crying.

Your typing reminded me a little of what my emails from Hungary looked like last summer.

    And now the wedding ...
