It’s Not Rocket Surgery. It’s Saturday.

I knew that since it’s Saturday, it’s risky to get in the shower. I’ll only attempt it if Doug’s available to answer the phone call when it comes.

So I stepped into and then out of the shower, and Doug was standing in front of me by the time I’d grabbed a towel.

He didn’t say anything for ten full seconds, and neither did I. He knew that I knew. Who needs words?

“Your mom fell,” he said. “She’s in an ambulance on her way to the hospital.”

I didn’t say anything, so he continued.

“She says she’s not in pain, but she can’t stand.”

Um. Yeah. It’s Saturday once again.

Fallible Comments...
  1. Oh, Katy, I'm so sorry. Prayers for strength for you and quick healing for your mom.

  2. I don't know about you but when I get to Heaven, God and I are going to have a serious talk about abolishing this, "God only gives you as much as you can handle" cliche'.

Praying...for healing...and normalcy...normal normalcy if you know what I mean.

  3. Carrie K--Girl, I just don't know sometimes. Yesterday I had the first day when I almost felt good in 7 weeks or so. I do need strength! Thank you.

Michael 1--I read that Scripture the other day where Jesus says to His disciples, "I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now." I'm glad He doesn't tell me too much in advance, because I could not bear it now (or ever). But it would be nice if the events could ease up a little bit, wouldn't it? ;) Normal normalcy? No, I don't know what you mean. It sounds like a concept I used to be familiar with, but that was a LONG time ago....I sure appreciate the prayers.

  4. I want to know where it is written in scripture that God doesn't give you more than you can handle! I've found life has given me waaaay more than I can handle forcing me to dump it all of God simply so I can survive the next breath. And in His magnificant brilliance, He handles it wondering what took so long!
