Emptiness

You know it’s bad when you catch yourself squinting through the narrow slot on the opaque lid of your latte, hoping against hope to spot even three more drops, elusive dregs that stubbornly refused to cross your lips when last you tipped the drained cup into your craven mouth.

We live in desperate times.

Fallible Comments...
  1. You are so right. It is those last few drops that seem to be so important. I have an old habit from the cold winters of Minnesota. I hold my hot cup of coffee to my cheek for warmth. Now, this looks pretty silly, when you realize that I live on the desert and it is hotter than hades most of the time. (Slight exaggeration)

  2. Maria--I love holding onto the cup for warmth! Even if I have to turn on the air conditioner a little colder so I can handle the heat! Just kidding.

I'm heading out to the kitchen for a refill.
